Happy 6 months Hudson!

Half a year already? Whaaa? I held out and waited the full 6 months...so, here's our little dude eating baby oatmeal for the first time! He likes it WAY better than Ansleigh did (she refused oatmeal and rice cereal and went straight to the "good stuff"). Mr. Smiley loves it.

I'm so proud of him! I cannot believe how fast he's growing. I have his 6 month check up on Tuesday (including shots, eeek!).

Flies chillin' at my house

He's gotten real comfy hanging out ON THE FLIPPIN' fly-swater. So ironic. The two flies that love to continuously fly around my head for the past few days are going DOWN, I say!

Sunset

Just too pretty not to post. This is the sunset from our bedroom window on Saturday night. The picture doesn't really give it justice; it just was so beautiful.

Uncle Bubba's Basketball game

Christian played in a tournament this weekend with his travel basketball team, the Virginia Stars. They played at the University of Richmond and we got to go watch him play. He is so tall and so athletic....obviously, I am so proud of him! Ansleigh is wearing a shirt that says "Go Uncle Bubba"...she LOVES it and wears it all the time (thanks Mom ;o)--she was a sleepy head that day. And then the last two were of the sunset we saw when we were driving home down Broad Street. I couldn't get my camera out fast enough but the sun was ginormous looking when it was setting. I just got the last little sliver.

Thank you Frosty.

Thanks to the "Wanilla Frowsty" from Wendy's, we were able to get some smiles today! (*No, I do not bribe my Ansleigh with Frosty's in exchange for a smile...) I was so happy and pleased, especially compared to our previous picture taking experience. Just a few:

Fed Ex me to Arizona!

Some presents from afar....

Thank you Aunt Traci, Aunt Stephanie, and Uncle Jeff for my birthday presents! I love them~

Cowboy Roy

Thanks to Roy's thoughtful Mom, he was blessed to get his awesome eagle vest back....the one he couldn't live without as a child. I know Roy's been missing that thing!! Can't you just see Roy now...running around in cowboy boots and shorts (Nanna said he made a fashion statement in his younger years and all the children wanted to wear boots and shorts, just like Roy). So, for old times sake, he put it on. It fits! Hahaha. We got a good laugh! It's now hanging in Hudson's closet--Roy has now passed this sentimental artifact down to him :o) He's holding a picture of himself as a child...it's unbelieveable how much Hudson looks like his Daddy. What a handsome little fella he is!!

Updates, News, Stories...and some pictures!

Long time no see. Sorry for my lack up updates. Lately, I've encountered a lot of "blog worthy" posts but my busy/lazy butt (strange putting those two words together?) hasn't gotten online to post them.

Papa is still in the hospital...he was moved to a rehabilitation facility at another hospital, but after getting a temp. of 104 and extremely low BP readings, they moved him back into ICU for about a week. TODAY, they finally moved him out of ICU and back into the regular part of the hospital. He's been in there several weeks and still needs prayers! Monday night, they admitted my Meme (Papa's wife) into the hospital for possible pneumonia. The doctors still haven't determined what's going on and why she is loosing weight rapidly and she can't keep food down...and if it does stay down, it goes right through. Poor thing! Anyways, she's in Room 228 and since they just moved Papa out of ICU, they moved him into Room 225--they are just right down the hall from one another! I feel so bad for them and appreciate all y'alls prayers for a quick recovery!
My Aunt Hilda also went into the hospital unexpectedly and had to have emergency surgery but she's out now and doing well! Roy's grandma, Taitti, is in the hospital in Minnesota and is also needing prayers right now! Please just pray for the Baldacci/Toone/Kelly family! Thank y'all!
Reversing in time a bit, Ansleigh's party was a BIG success and Hudson's Dedication was fantastic too! It was such a special...and sentimental day, especially because it was Mother's Day and the whole family was together. Nanna and Papa came in from Austin for a long weekend and helped a ton with the preperation, etc. and Ansleigh just adored them being here. It was a beautiful day and I feel so extremely blessed and thankful for our amazingly supportive family!

One ghetto fabulous Sam's club cake....Zero dollars.
Second ghetto fabulous cake from Sam's Club....Zero dollars. The look on Roy and Papa Toone's face as they waited in front of the bakery for the manger at the Sam's Club on a Saturday night...the day before Mother's Day, while I complained about...well, just about everything on this cake.... priceless.
If you can, click on the picture to see it closer; it is funk-tastic! Seriously, notice the chocolate cake coming through the icing on Hudson's Bible. I LOVE Sam's club cakes and will not stop buying them from there. It was still delicious and they totally apologized and agreed it was a little funky--but since I couldn't have another one made by the next day, they did right and...well, marked "free" on top of the cake. How lucky am I?
Princess Ansleigh--Ta-da!
Blowing out her 8 candles (no, she's not 8, she's 3, but I figured, more candles, more wishes!)
Jumping in her bouncey house with Sara H. (Jeb's lady friend)
Happy Mother's Day!
Candace, Meme, Roy, and Hudson

Two of the sweetest friends in the whole, wide world!

Other news:
Stephanie is coming up on her due date...less than a month and counting! She's due on June 17th and we can hardly wait to add another little gal to our fam! Traci told me the MOST hilarious story tonight...since she doesn't have a blog (yet :o) I had to post this story...I hope I get it right! She's visiting Steph and Jeff in Phoenix this week. Each day Traci and Steph have been going on morning walks. Jeff is there when they leave but typically gone to work by the time they get back home. Well, today, they were walking and had a little miscommunication and each thought the other had the keys to the house. Realizing this, Traci decides to run back home to catch Jeff before he leaves for work. She saw him pulling out of the driveway and she started waving her arms and running down the street after him. Traci said he flung that truck in reverse and was like, "WHAT, WHAT!!!" He thought Steph was in labor. I can only imagine the feeling he had seeing Traci running down the street, with Stephanie not in sight...I can't stop giggling thinking about it. Such a funny story....
Also, this week in the headlines....Two of Roy's and my friends are getting married this weekend. Sadly, we couldn't attend either wedding but we are sending lots of love to our buddies, Marc and Sally who will be getting hitched in Kansas---and Stephanie and Andy who are getting married in Vegas, baby! Congratulations!

Out In the country, we say...

Little Isaac? I think not! That's MR. ISAAC to you!

Hannah--the sweetest little thing ever! Hanging out with "The Guys".

Laughing at Mrs. Sherika!

Hopefully you can get the full effect in this picture. Isaac and his "mini-me". Haha.
My sweet little fella.

Dang! Now that's a BIG BOY!!
So, I thought my guy was big--already in 9 month clothes...over 16 Lbs....already in size 3 diapers and he's only 5 months old...Well, Hudson has a buddy, Isaac, my girlfriend Sherika's son (Sherika and Sherita are my very dear girlfriends from Elem., Middle, and HS) and Hudson has NOTHING on him. Isaac was born in October...Hudson in November and Hudson looks like a newborn compared to him (haha!) Can you believe they are only about a month apart?? That dude looks like he's about to start walking!! Roy says Sherika and Derrick have a "first round draft pick for a nose tackle" on their hands.
