Hospital, again?

Seriously? So, Meme's at the hospital now. She went in last Wednesday after she had an endoscopy, and the doctor recommended she be hospitalized after they noticed that the camera from the endoscopy sat in her belly for 4 hours (which it's not suppose to do). They also want to figure out why it's so uncomfortable for her to eat and why it makes her feel so sick, and they need to to gain some weight. Well, never did I ever think I'd see my Meme *(or anyone at that matter)* and say, "WOW! You look great...how much weight have you put on!!!" Hahaha. She has a pick line, sorta like an IV, and it's giving her, what I like to call, "fat drippings" or her "milkshake". And let me tell ya, it's working. Well, she's up 10 Lbs. and now weighing in at 99 Lbs. She looks so much healthier and seems to have more energy too. They are running a million-kajillion tests, just trying to figure out what's going on. The tests are taking a bit of time, but we're being patient and hopefully we'll know something soon! Initally, they were going to take her gall bladder out once she gained more weight and "could" have surgery but now, they are just wanting to make sure they have exhausted all possibilities of what could be going on and make sure the gall bladder is IT. We are looking at it as a blessing. Please say a little prayer for her...or a big prayer and lots of them! She's had a tough few weeks with loosing Papa and now, with her own health. We're glad she's there and getting better.
Hospital and my family--so, what's the correlation there? I've joked recently about it, but seriously, we're regulars. I mean, I KNOW people. Haha--not really. Today, when I went in to see Meme, my cousin Joe and his wife, Angel, were in the room visiting. He's been having some pains in his chest and wasn't sure what was going on, so he went to the ER...when he got to Henrico Doctor's one of the ladies said, "Baldacci??, any relation to Gladys Baldacci??" He didn't even know she was there?! And I forgot to mention, when Meme was in admissions, the sweet lady behind the counter said, "Baldacci??, any relation to Edward Baldacci??" She said she knew Papa, and that his obituary was being passed around the hospital because he was a "frequent" there and so well liked. :o( Oh, I'm "blog rambling" sorry. And one more thing...while praying, please say a little prayer for my cousin Joe Baldacci too :o)
And just a few more pictures...what the heck...while, I'm mumbling off into oblivian.

Our first bruiser

A good Mom, you say?

I was on the phone with my girlfriend, sorting through Ansleigh's and Hudson's clothes when I saw Ansleigh coming around the bend, like a bat out of..., and just about then, she tripped, and like a scene out of a movie, I leaped to grab her, only to miss. Pretty much, it was the worst thing ever. Probably even worse, I saw the whole thing happen--never good--because if you SEE it happen, you somehow think you could have prevented it from happening, since you were there, of course. I seriously thought her brains were protruding from her skull *see picture*, but hadn't broken skin. So, Momma called the doctor and the doctor said, no more monkeys running fast in the house with last year's Santa outfit on.
***(I was going through Ansleigh's closet and I was trying to pack some old things away--kinda didn't get done in the move, anyways, PLUS every time I try to pack away this Santa outfit, she pulls it out and puts it on--so that's the story behind the Santa outfit in July.)
So I took the picture because I knew no one would believe how bad it really was. The first question the doctor's office asked was: Was there an instant bruise? YESSS! Little did I know, that's good! It means it's on the surface. If your child takes a bad fall and there isn't an instant bruise, that's when you need to be worried. Hmmmm? Didn't know that! After icing it down, it started to look a ton better. Seriously, what's next in the Toone household?
Right afterwards the movie scene trip, me freaking out, and me running around in a panic trying to get a baggie of ice, call Roy, then the doctor, and find the camera (oh, to have been a fly on the wall....):

And my sweet angel after the ice did it's magic (seriously, ice is way underestimated...totally magical):

Later that night, drinking some milk (like Santa) and rubbing her tummy (like Santa), while wearing a "3/4 length shirt" and "capri" pants, Santa style--size 2T. We are all better now (Mom too, for those of you who may have been worried about my heart...stopping).

Happy 2nd Birthday Caroline!

.Cupcake time. Caroline, Jacob, Ansleigh, Virginia

Where did the time go? I was telling Carey that it felt like yesterday that we were at the hospital celebrating Caroline's BIRTHday. Ansleigh was just learning to walk and I'll never forget her wanting to walk around at the hospital. Two years later, Caroline is a little lady. She's the most precious little girl and growing so fast---like a weed (the story of my life, and don't I sound like an old lady saying that?). Carey and Jordan had a little ocean, Nemo, theme. It was all too precious. And food...oh my gosh, delicious. I'm salivating just thinking about the spread. *In one of the pictures above, Ansleigh is wearing/modeling, Caroline's new apron...little did we know, Carey and Jordan gave her a kitchen set for her birthday and she got a lot of accessories for her new mini-pink-kitchen!

Lala's birthday partay

Have you ever heard of the "fun-ness"? Well, that's my family! They are the fun-ness. Whenever we get together, it's always a blast. Delicious food (thanks Meme), Gelati ice cream for dessert (good choice Lew), go-carting, and laughter. Happy Birthday Lew, aka-Lala. Cheers to another year!

Ansleigh-recent pictures

Ansleigh hanging out with her buddy, Uncle Bubba. She wakes up in the morning and says, "Is my Uncle Bubba gonna come over today?" She adores him!! Ansleigh fixing my hair?

.Sunset.

.two major beauties.

Ansleigh's favorite food...vegetables. And she loves salad--strange for a 3 year old, but I'm not complaining!!!

.sweetness.
She is so in love with Hudson. I love seeing them together and watching her entertain him. She loves handing him toys to play with...and one of my most favorite things she's been saying to him, in a very high pitched little voice, "Come on little brother....let me see them toofas!" :o)

Cupcake time.
We made pink cupcakes in honor of her favorite book, "Pinkalicious" given to her by Aunt Stephanie and Uncle Jeff. We iced them with green frosting to offset the possibility of turning pink like "Pinkerella" did in the book...she had to eat a steady diet of "icky green vegetables" in order to turn her back to her regular shade, instead of the shade of rasberry sorbet...not sure if green ICING was apart of the diet, but we did green, just for fun. This is prior to frosting...Ansleigh had to sneek one to make sure they were okay for the rest of us to eat.

Little Momma
I thought this was so funny because she has this NEW half smile. It's definitely a smirk and she just started doing it.

BBQ night with our family. Hudson hanging out with Big Daddy, Gogo, and Meme :o)

Giving you the KNUCK...

What can I say? Hahaha.

Cutie Pa-Tootie
Mmmmm, Green Beans. Sike. More is on his face than in his stomach. I did manage to get a giggle out of him though.

Pondering

My two favorite guys

My sweet Hudson is growing too fast for words. He is now the proud owner of 2 teeth. And, he is a heavy weight...at his last doctor's visit, he was 19.8 Lbs. which means he'll be needing a new car seat soon! He recently had his first ear infection (which was right around the time when everyone was sick) and he's still on an antibiotic for that. Yucky. He's the happiest little fella and we are so lucky to have him. Had to share some recent pictures of my chunky monkey.

Ansleigh visits the hospital

During the time that Papa was sick and in the hospital, Ansleigh got sick too. She was running a really high fever, consistently, with no let up, even with tylenol every 4 hours---it just never broke and when I say high, I mean over 104 high.... I was so confused and really concerned. We kept taking her to the doctor and explaining how she was acting, the temp but they kept sending us home, saying a fever can be good because it means she's fighting an infection and she was prescribed an antiobiotic. I just knew something wasn't right. Finally, on the 4th trip to the doctor, they took a blood test and determined that her protein levels were low, and another test showed inflamation. She was hospitalized on Tuesday, just a few days after Papa passed away. They determined that she had Kawaski's Disease. She went to the hospital and underwent several more tests, had to get an echo from the cardiologist (all which was good) and had a "magic straw" in her arm (which she was so proud of) so she could receive a 12 hour IV treatment of IVIG--the medicine they use for Kawaski's. She was released from the hospital on Wednesday night (the day before Papa's funeral) but that night, she started vomitting and her temperature rose again, so they readmitted her Wednesday night and kept her until Saturday, July 4th. All is good and she is fine. She'll be seeing a cardiologist periodically because of the the Kawaski's disease. Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers for my family. We've had a tough few weeks!

Finally eating...too funny not to post Spaghetti head.

Our little family resting

Ansleigh got lots of visitors. Aunt Lala came to visit and brought a bag full of goodies. Aunt Sara and Aunt Sarah visited and read lots of books and Ansleigh got a new Care Bear and Gogo and Meme brought her a little Angel from Papa and a cute little doll (I think she's starting to like this hospital thing!?!?)

Get Well Soon Ansleigh! Debbie Stanley sent her this balloon and a little bear.

Ansleigh made the most of her trip to the hospital. You can see the "magic straw" here:
We decorated the room with Ansleigh's drawings...

Sunset on our Anniversary- Happy 7 years, Roy!
Roy and I sat in the doctor's office on the night of our Anniversary and spent the rest of the evening working on going through pictures of Papa for the collage. It was definitely an Anniversary I'll never forget~
