30 years

Mom and Dad celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary today. Yesterday, over a glass of wine at Meme's house, I was commenting that Roy and I will be married 7 years next month--and I joked that Roy is the longest boyfriend that I've ever had--and I seem to love him more and more every day, even though I didn't think that was possible. I have no idea where the time went. and how 7 years has gone by so fast. Mom then said, "Dad and I will be celebrating our 30th tomorrow!". I had it on my calender, but it sorta slipped my mind. Such a landmark anniversary too. Thirty years, WOW! I am so proud and happy that I have two parents that have stuck together through thick and thin, good and bad, laughter and tears. Happy Anniversary to two people that are truly a blessing in my life. What a sweet life!

Brad Paisley, "Then" comes to mind. Reminds me exactly of my Mom and Dad. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=npE8QdDtN4I

1979 to 2009

Hmmmmmm, now if they aren't the cutest little things....

My sweeties.

My lil' sugar pies....
Had to add a few new pictures of my sweeties. Aunt Stephanie D. gave Hudson those brown and green socks--the ones where he's kicking the camera...looking like those may need to be retired (didn't notice how small they looked until I just uploaded these pictures!!)...my little guy is growing so fast!!

Smooches from the Scoomzerator,

The Scoomzie kissing Daddy goodbye before he heads off to work. Roy and I call Ansleigh "Scoomzie, Scoomze, Scoomerific-Scoom-zerola, The Scoomzerator...etc., etc." and she fondly refers to herself with these nicknames too (I guess we've been doing it for so long now). Of course, Roy makes up all the nicknames in our house. A while back, Ansleigh would said "Scoomzie" when she was trying to say "Excuse Me"...so she now holds the nickname. Roy comes up with some way random nicknames for me--but it's always interesting, I must say! Many of which have no story behind them are: Ewdiddle, Ousa, and You with the head. The last is my favorite--so special, so sweet.
Sounds like we are creating a new language in our house?

And....

my house smells like a meat market. Today I finished cooking 27 Lbs. of boston butt for Ansleigh's Birthday, Hudson's Church Dedication, and our Mother's Day shindig. So glad I'm doing this in advance and freezing it so my house will be a little bit aired out before everyone comes over! For those of you who don't know...Boston butt makes BBQ. We aren't having some strange, eclectic menu of tongue and cow eyes. Don't worry...just cow butt.

Cousin Johnnie's 52nd Birthday Party!

Aunt Jane washing Ansleigh's hands after they turned green...

Daddy and his special guy

Hudson hanging out with his Great-Great Aunt Jane

Cousin Johnnie and Johnnie's lovely lady, Susan! They just adored holding Hudson!
Sunday, we went to Aunt Jane and Uncle Carroll's house to celebrate my cousin Johnnie's 52nd birthday! It was so nice being with our entire family---delicious food, cake, drinks...way too much fun!! I must also give a shout out to Mr. Cox who concocted the most WONDERFUL key lime cake I've ever had! Carla and Ryan had the same cake at their wedding last year (gosh, I can't believe it's been a year?!?) and he has definitely perfected it! I wish I had a whole one of those sitting in front of me right about now!
I was also able to meet Susan's parents which was an absolute joy! I found out that Susan will be having hip surgery coming up in the next few weeks, so I'm starting the prayers early! I adore seeing her and Johnnie together. The way that she looks at him...it's so special.
After the party, Roy, Ansleigh, Hudson, and I went to the hospital to see Papa. They have since moved him to a new unit (no longer in a critical care unit). He seems to be doing great but anxious to get the heck outta there! I'm hoping to post some good news soon! Please continue to pray for my Papa! :o)

The Crazy Momma and the Laughing Ansleigh

Just us being silly. I wish you could have heard her laughing...children laughing must be the most wonderful sound God created!
